Reduced Gravity Research Flight Program
Zero Gravity Corporation (ZERO-G) and the Florida Space Research
Institute (FSRI) are partners in providing access to commercial
parabolic research flight opportunities. Flights are available to
all researchers, research organizations, companies, and government
agencies. We offer a customer-oriented program that can be
customized to fit any research need.
Flights typically originate from the Shuttle Landing Facility at the
NASA Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL, but may be operated
from other airfields in the United States. Requests for operations
away from KSC can be accommodated for researchers chartering the
entire aircraft (additional costs for ferrying the aircraft apply).
We will work with you to identify an airfield and support services
for the flight.
Flight Options
Based on payload size and personnel needs, you may wish to purchase
space on an existing research flight or charter the entire aircraft.
All research flights include:
- Assistance with experiment structural certifications (must be FAA
compliant)
- Test Readiness Review for payload integration and testing
- Pre-flight safety training for researchers
- Parabolic flight lasting up to 2 hours (approximately 40 parabolas
= 20 minutes of microgravity)
Additional options are available including longer flights and
changes to the flight profile to include Martian gravity (.38 G)
and/or Lunar gravity (.16 G).
Experiments and Payloads
ZERO-G offers a unique palletized interior configuration that allows
experiments to be integrated, configured for flight, and approved
prior to loading. Once final approvals are granted, the pallets with
attached experiments are loaded onto the aircraft for parabolic
flight. Using this method, we are able to quickly exchange
experiments and accommodate multiple flights with different interior
configurations in a single day. We will work with you to obtain
necessary FAA certifications for your experiment.
For researchers needing only a portion of the aircraft, we recommend
the following Maximum Standard Research Payload specifications*:
Dimensions: 36" Lx 60" W x60" H or smaller
Weight: up to 250 lbs
Power: up to 5A of 115V, 60Hz, Single-phase power
*Payloads outside these specifications may require additional time
for certification.
Why Fly Your Payload with ZERO-G?

How to Fly Research with ZERO-G
1. Contact Us for flight dates, deadlines, and requirements.
2. Submit your Test Equipment Data Package (TEDP) and registration
forms for review along with your deposit.
3. After TEDP review, pay your balance and finalize flight details.
ZERO-G Learning Lab
ZERO-G is actively developing programs and partnerships to enable
teachers and students to experience the excitement of ZERO-G while
incorporating experiments and classroom demonstrations into their
flights. The Education Programs office is available to assist
educators and administrators in seeking funding for individuals,
groups and full educational flights.
The Learning Laboratory can help develop programs that provide
turn-key flights based workshops and ground-based programs taught by
experienced professional development instructors familiar with a
variety of zero gravity experiments and demonstrations for science,
engineering, technology and mathematics curricula.
The Education Programs Office provides:
- Fundraising assistance from locating potential sources to writing
proposals
- Speakers for regional, local and national conferences
- Partnership opportunities with organizations experienced in STEM
professional development programs
- Ground-based and flight-based facilitators and instructors
- Partial or full flights for educational purposes
